Why Does This Model Work?
We have a focused mandate to achieve actual and sustainable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and improve our ability to adapt to climate change. To realize these outcomes, funding will be given to projects that focus on key areas:
Greening energy production
Projects funded through this platform will focus on supporting alternative and renewable ways of producing energy.
Conserving and using energy efficiently
It is possible to enhance value simply by transforming how we use energy, applying energy efficient solutions and conserving energy.
Carbon capture and storage
This platform focuses on capturing and storing carbon and assessing potential uses and value.
Enhancement of biological systems
Projects funded through this platform will focus on capturing and reducing carbon through biological systems and processes.
Adaptation
This platform will focus on finding ways of helping Albertans understand, mitigate and adapt to climate change.
